The Anti-Money Laundering rules are complex and from 15 December 2007 the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 have brought in more change. 

This course will be a practical guide to the reporting and due diligence (identification) rules and will assist firms in honing their procedures to ensure that they are both effective and efficient.

The course will also cover recent amendments to the rules such as MLR 2007, the ICAEW Guidance, the extension of legal privilege and SOCPA 2005

  • The Money Laundering Regulations 2007 and The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and how they apply to accountants and their clients
  • The revised ICAEW guidance

  • When to report suspicions of money laundering including practical examples

About the Presenter:

John Selwood is a Chartered Accountant and independent training consultant. He lectures on money laundering, auditing and financial reporting. He also writes technical material for publishers. Previously, he has been the Technical Partner for a top 30 firm of accountants and Head of CharterGroup the accountancy network. John is also Finance Director of Passion of the Planet Ltd a group of digital radio broadcasting companies.
